The more important question is whether or not *you* see any difference.

In theory, mainly through marketing hype, the 12 bit DACs operate at a faster
clock which is supposed to help produce a clearer picture.

But, theories don't compare to actual experience. You should look at a
comparison between two DVD players, one with a 10 bit and the other with a 12
bit, and make the decision right there. If you see no difference, then save
money and buy one with a 10 bit.

Just make sure the new DVD player is a Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Pioneer, or
JVC. Don't bother with any of the other brands. - Reinhart
