I have fitted a DVD drive to a 500 MHz AMD PC with 320 MB of RAM and PC
Chips motherboard. I had expected this to be able to play DVDs but it isn't
powerful enough and playback breaks up. When DVD drives first came out many
people added DVD decoder cards to get round this problem. These cards are
available on eBay so this might be the solution. Unfortunately this PC has
onboard graphics and does not have an AGP slot. Can one of these cards be
fitted to this PC and can any one recommend a particular model or brand?
    Thanks.

Simply get one that is PCI rather than AGP.

I played DVDs on an AMD 500 with 192 MB RAM and the onboard video.
