Is it possible to have Xp on an internal HD and Lunix on an external HD
drive through a USB 2.0 port and set them up as a dual boot?

I think that is possible only if your motherboard supports booting from an
external USB device: some new motherboards do and you can set the order in
which the motherboard searches for the first bootable device.
