Finally online with the DSL service.
Yesterday it rained all day long so my expected technician guy never showed
up. This morning he shows up. found out it wasn't my problem I wasn't
getting online. Apparently, the first technician didn't set up the line
    properly.

After running the setup program a few times, it finally told me I had an
issue with the phone line still. Went to qwest's live chat and after two
different helpers, finally got the damn thing online.

To be sure I was online with them, I unplugged my verizon mifi card.
Then ran their high speed test. Whoa! Hello. 38mbps upload, 18mbps
    download.

Downloading a simple mp3 took 2 minutes or so on Verizon. Now it takes 30
    seconds.

Watched a couple of videos and neither hesitated one second.

Definitely a big improvement and no limits. So I don't have to watch how
much I download now. Just do it.

Thanks to all who tried helping before. Except you aardvark.
The problem was on their end, not mine.

    Go to speakeasy http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
Do a speed test from a server closest to you.
When it's done hit Print Screen and save the capture
to a jpg. Upload to bayimg.com and post the URL.
Your results are a bit ridicules as you describe them.

You said 38 up 18 down.

    "Whoa! Hello. 38mbps upload, 18mbps

    Like I said, ridiculous.

As far as me eating my heart out? For what? My 25Mb/s is fast enough for
me. Jealous of you? You've got to be fucking kidding.

Not bad ---- where I live AT&T is the only option and they charge me
    25/month for "up to 3.5mbps"; I don't think it's ever reached 3.5, though.
    I usually get around 2.5 . . . AT&T provides absolutely rotten service

$55/mo after 6 months with qualifying phone service of $30/mo for the
first $12 months. That means you'll pay at least $85 a month :)

It's a possibility that he's locked into a 12 month contract with an
early termination fee. I checked the pricing but didn't read the fine
print about a contract if present.
