dRebel Flash Underexposed

    I found that using default setting, the flash photo with 550EX flash is
    significantly darker than using the build-in flash. I haven't played with
    the FEC setting enough but I'd like to know why this is case and for those
    with plenty of experience with the 550EX, what is the optimal FEC setting
    when using dRebel?
