Does the D2X meter on bellows using i-TTL?

Just curious, does the D2X meter with bellows or other extensions that do
not relay the electronic contacts to the camera? It supports manual lenses
and hence I would expect it should support the meter. But what about i-TTL?

I use i-TTL a lot in manual mode with the D70 and the SB-800 for close-up
photography. But the D70's meter is dead when not used with appropriate CPU
lenses (such as the AF-D and AF-S lenses).
