divx or avi to mpeg

    Hello all.....can anyne recomend a good program that converts avi or divx
    files to mpeg ,so they can be converted to be burned on a cdr ....or can
    this not be done.

    TMPGenc does exactly this. There's even a quicktime plugin for it. Its
    great for making SVCDs.

    some people have already answered your question.

    For future reference another good place to get suggestions for software
    (but there is nothing wrong with here) is <news:alt.comp.freeware>,
    especially the Google archives.
