How easy is it to split a divx file keeping the sound..etc so that is can be
    saved onto two CDR's.

I know a DVD burner would be easier, however; I just want to split the divx
    file for viewing.

    Cheers,

It's pretty easy to do, there are several programs that do it well. Just do
a google search for avi and split, should help
