Digital certificates lost after reboot

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by Wayne McDougall, Feb 11, 2004.

  1. Hi I'm using digital certificates in Internet Explorer under Windows XP. All
    critical and recommended updates installed.

After rebooting the certificate I successfully install and use in my
Personal store disappears. It can be placed in other stores (and remains
after rebooting) but can't be used from there. I can re-import the key and
use it - it stays in place even if Internet Explorer is closed and
restarted. But it is gone after a reboot. Importing the key into another
machine doesn't replicate the problem, so it doesn't seem to be key
    specific.

I'm at a loss to know how to proceed. Any advice would be welcome.
