  1. hello folks

best wishes for the new year

    now:

does ddr am fit in the slot for sd ram?
can a mainboard made for ddr ram use sd ram?

or are there VISIBLE differences between the 2 rams?

    See this article http://www.dewassoc.com/performance/memory/ddr_sdram.htm
to get a overview of the available memory types.

Not without breaking the module or the socket

    > can a mainboard made for ddr ram use sd ram?

No. There are a few boards on the market that can accept either (they have
2 DDR slots and 2 SDR slots), but you can't use the two together.

    > or are there VISIBLE differences between the 2 rams?

Yes, there are different notchings that prevent them from being used in the
    wrong slots.
