I'd like some feedback from people out there regarding a sensor cleaning
problem. The advice I'd like relates to what reasonable expectations I
might have from a repair done under an insurance policy. I'll try to be
brief. 18 months ago I brought a NIKON D70 from Jessops. I paid a further
£90 for a 3 year insurance policy that I was told covered me for any
breakdown or accident that my camer might suffer. I was stupid and used a
Jessops compressed air can to clean the sensor, with the result that I
created about 60 spots on the sensor. I took th camera back to Jessops and
3 weeks later I get it back. All my spots have gone but there are 18 new
ones in another part of the sensor. I then go back to Jessops and after
another 2-3 weeks I return to collect it. The 18 spots have gone but there
are two new ones that are visble against a blue sky.
Would I be unreasonable in expecting the sensor to be as good as new after
having sent it off twice for cleaning? I'd like to add that the mirror had
at least three tiny bits of dirt on it that were there when I took the
camera in to Jessops and they are still there, which makes me wonder wether
any real care or consideration has gone into the cleaning process.
    Any comments much apprciated.
