crypto map down when inactive

    Hello I am preatty new to crypto maps, i notice that my crypto map
    between the routers and the pix are always up, but the crypto maps
    between the 1700 routers become active when i ping a remote host. how
    can i set them up so they are always up?

    If this is IPSec (not using gre) then its normal.
    Only 'interesting' traffic will bring up the isakmp connections.
    USe gre if needed to be on full time or pass broadcasts.
