    Hi all,
I have pop-up on my comp right now that is
offering me to download "critical updates" (via Mozilla etc),
I thought Mozilla as a Browser was immune from this sort of
thing........ have I got it wrong? (i dont mind being wrong)

Just what "UPdates is this pop-up" offering me?

If I click on NO, will I be missing out on something?

Thing is, as soon as I've finished typing this, I will be clicking on NO,
as I will be shutting down for the nite.
If the Update is legit, how will I get it back, if its not legit, what the
heck is it doing on my screen.

    hi again,,,,,,

just looked again, and the message says......

    CRITICAL Update.

When did using Mozilla become an avenue for needing CRITICAL
    updates?

Actual, I not sure what you are saying.

However, I can tell you mozilla, firefox look for critical update for
the browser itself not for your operating system. Microsoft would
not allow Firefox, Mozilla to use windows update.

The pop-up you might be getting is three different things.

Pop-up windows showing an advertisement-ignore this

the service messenger (Not instant messenger) which can be disable by
typing services.msc and look for messenger and set it to disable and
reboot. Also ignore this advertisement as well/

Third it could be windows update. Look on you task bar for the
windows icon-this is legit and double click it and you will see the
    updates being offered.
