Counter-strike source and Radeon 8500

Discussion in 'NZ Computing' started by Whalemeat is Yummy, Dec 24, 2005.

  1. Hi

    I need help

When playing Counter-strike source, I keep getting the message displayed
that my video driver is outdated although the Steam status is 100% ready. I
go to the ATI website and download what appears to be the latest driver
    Catalyst 5.6

    6.14.10.6542

Anyone know how to fix this?

Which is the latest driver versions.

I googled but can't seem to find relevant info.

    Thanks

How you un-installed the old driver, and then re installed the latest ones?

  3. Nothing in the release notes about uninstalling the old drivers.
I don't even remember seeing an option for un installing the old drivers

You don't but its best if you un-install old drivers before installing new
    ones.

Go to control panel> add/remove programes and find your display driver name.
click to remove it, then restart your comp. then install the new drivers you
    have.
