corrupted or distorted text

    On OE the text looks overtyped by various characters or vertical straight
    lines. This also happens when displaying web pages, even Google. I can
    usually clear it by highlighting which shows like a negative then clicking
    elsewhere on the page which makes it show as normal. Text also appears to be
    smudged in some instances.

    I have done several checks for virus and spyware, all clear. Anyone have
    any idea what this could be ?
    I am using XP home.

    Could be a vga driver problem or maybe hardware
    try different screen resolutions and drop the colour down
    let me know what happenz

    Thanks for the suggestion. It turned out to be the video card. New one
    fitted, all OK now.
