Completely update mailboxes (Mozilla mail)

I swap between several e-mail clients (Mozilla under Windows, Mozilla
    under Linux, PC-Pine, and Pine).

When I open either OS'es Mozilla e-mail client, if another client has
touched my mailboxes, Mozilla will not "properly" list my unread vs.
read messages (for example, unread messages won't necessarily
    highlight).

The default behavior seems to be that the Inbox will update, and any
messages that are moved around as part of this session's filtering.
Then, individual folders will update if I click on them.

Is there a way to get Mozilla to refresh _each_ mailbox, every time I
    open it?
