Anyone have any clear understanding on this one? Through
the web based newsgroups, it shows up a lot.

Sometimes, obvious profanity that is married up to other
words, so as to form one larger word, gets through, no
problems. It would seem that some single words cause
    messages to be dropped.

Strange example: I remember one post where the original
poster from Montana was seeking help with braindumps. I
was reflecting on my visit there six or so years ago and
included a reference to the unibompber (deliberate
mispelling to avoid message filtering) and the message was
    dropped.

Anyone more clear on what filters are in place?

I've been trying to figure it out too. I have had posts modded with the word
shmit ;-) in them. But I have also had others sent to dave null for no clear
reason. Yet some truly vulgar posts make it thru! I can only assume that MS
approves of the use of Chalk's term.

Only when used in the proper context.
