    Hi
I have a need to buy Cisco AS (53.. or 58..) supporting SS7.
Doeas anyone know what kind of components and IOS do I have to get.
Is that unique SS7 card to enable this feature?

    Thanks for your help

I've found Cisco SC 2200 Signaling Controller on the stock
    Is this all I need?

    Thanks

Yeah, that's basically what you need - a signaling controller ("softswitch")
to gateway between the SS7 signaling network and some other IP based signaling
protocol that the AS5000 will understand (RLM (Q.931 over UDP), MGCP, H.323,
    etc.)

It looks like the SC2200 is end-of-sale as of March 5. The PGW 2200 is
    the recommended replacement. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vcallcon/ps2027/index.html

    Thanks for update.
I familiarized myself with signaling controllers issue and found out that
there is a NEMS (Network element management system) component in this
    architecture.
As far as i know, NEMS is used to create conf. files for softswicht (.dat)

So my next question is - do i need NEMS to configure PGW 2200?

    Thanks for your help.

I have no experience with the PGW 2200. Looking at the following page:
    http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/ga/2200pstn/index.shtml
    - it looks like all you require is the PGW 2200 (i.e. the Sun Netra
+ software) and the SLT terminal - i.e. the router into which the
SS7 DS0A connects. If you have an AS5350/AS5400, the DS0A can
connect directly into it, I believe.
