Cisco 3660

  1. Hi,

I have bridging enabled on a cisco 3660 - however, I noticed after adding
the command "bridge 1 protocol ieee", the router assigned the line "bridge 1
priority 1". I have since changed this, but am wondering why the router did
such a thing - this would obviously change the network configuration if the
router now believed itself to be the root bridge, and in ddition to that,
the bridgeing algorithm would have to content with slow links???

Finally, would this cause a multisite WAN (with serial links over HDLC) with
this 3660 as the centre to slow and crash intermitteltly because of this
    erroneous placement of the bridge?

    Thanks in advance.
