Cisco 2514 - Changing controller RX and TX ring and buffer sizes

    I'm a bit new to IOS - is there any way to change the number of RX and TX
    rings and perhaps also change the buffer size from 1524 to a lower value and
    use a Gather Write/Scatter Read approach?

    No its more compilcated than that - the MTU must stay set to 1500 - the
    packet size on the line is not an issue here.

    I doubt you can change the RX/TX rings. Buffer management can be tuned
    but not the way you want to use them. Take a look at "Inside Cisco IOS
    Software Architecture"
