    I have the same prob as another member who posted this situation , but in my case I have a c drive (which i booted from b4 install of xp), a d drive (which is labeled new volume), and my cd is e. I ran xp home on my kids pc, something happened and it started the install process over, i boot from teh d drive (have no idea how that came to be). i tried to format c as i was told by a friend to get rid of it, but it wont let me. help says go into add remove progs and uninstall, but it is not listed there. And yes i was logged on as an administrator as i was told i had to be in order to do it. how do i get rid of this extra XP OS at start up. Also i ran that wordpad c:\boot.ini and this came up:
    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

    in not very knowledgable about this stuff. any help is appreciated
