"Check for Updates"

Discussion in 'Firefox' started by Greg, Melbourne, Australia, Oct 26, 2006.

  1. Hello

    First time here.

When I click on "Help/Check for Updates" within Firefox it tells me
there are no updates, although V2.0 is obviously available for
    download.

    Wondering why?

    Any comments appreciated.

May be wrong, but I believe 2.0 isn't an update in the sense
of a small patch that will update your system, but another
    build of the software entirely.

Just go to getfirefox.com and download it, when it installs it
will automatically copy your current settings from what you're
    running now anyway.

    IMHO you're right.

Or wait for V 1.5.0.8 coming out per autoupdate soon. I've heard, this
Version will be finished in a couple of days, to enable V 1.5.0.7 to upgrade
    to V 2.0 via autoupdate.

Projected release date is now next Wednesday for 1.5.0.8, and yes it
should allow an update to 2.0.
