add monitor. Would you like fries with that?

    oops www.pp.co.nz > PC Wizard

just drop that code I posted in my first post into the PC Wizard and you can
then modify it to suit. The price then automatically updates for you.

Sounds like it's more for you than your mother. Doesn't sound like a 2.4
Pentium is going to be enough.

if Woger says it hasnt got onboard video then the he most know more than
    gigabyte...

    From http://tw.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard/Products/Products_GA-8SIMLH.htm

    Integrated Real 256-Bit 3D/128-Bit 2D Graphic Engines
With the integrated 3D/2D Graphic Engines, video accelerator and MPEGI/MPEGII
Video Decoder, GA-8SIMLH is able to provide a quality graphic interface for all
kind of 2D/3D graphic and video application for the Intel Pentium 4 based PC
    systems.

What does that mean Woger ?

    From http://tw.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard/Products/Products_Spec_GA-8SIMLH.htm

    Rear Panel I/O
1 x VGA port - whats this for then Woger ?
    2 x USB 2.0 ports
    1 x RJ45 LAN port
    PS/2 Keyboard / Mouse
    Audio (1 x Line-in / 1 x Line-out / 1 x Mic) connector
    1 x COM port
    1 x Game/Midi port

You wouldn't be ordering it just to do emails to keep in touch with family
    and friends either.
    ;-)
"Must have XP Pro - won't run on less than 512MB - want at least 80GB 7200
speed HD - and CD writer"
Just for some very light computer work. :)

    I don't need a 80 gig, 40 will be fine..Xp Pro with 512 megs...well thats
the minimum I consider Xp to be useable with. Don't forget these boxes with
onboard Video card often have shared memory :-(

Basically the machines for running Office, internet, storing and burning my
mums digital photos. She does the odd solataire game as well. She just finds
her older Celeron 566 Compaq notebook a bit slow nowdays.

    Best value for money:

Quality Socket A motherboard with built-in audio, video & modem. nVidia
    chipset, no VIA junk.
    Athlon XP 2000 CPU
    512mb ddr ram
A decent, quiet PSU, & a cheap case
15" LCD (or a much larger 17" for another 200$) (make sure it can
connect to the video-out - the new digital video-out systems give
significantly better quality btw, if eyesight is a concern)
    CDwriter
    80gb hdd

Beware an Intel motherboard / CPU system will cost you another several
hundred $ for the same speed & quality.

DSE had equivalent-prices Windows boxes.......demanded by Microsoft within
days of the launch of the Terminator range.

By the way, the guy who created that range (either system) no longer works
    at DSE (I'm told).

    I wonder what happened?

My local DSE branch don't seem interested in selling the DSE
    Terminator 1100.
The one they had on display once had Open Office on it but that was no
longer there. I wanted to look at the spreadsheet.
Once I managed to attract the attention of a DSE staff member, he
really wasn't interested in anything I asked about.
Pity for them, I'll look for a video projector, digital camera, and
    laptop somewhere else.
