celeron vs pentium

    how does celeron 2.6GHz fair compared to pentium?

    Cheaper.Not so good as Pentium.Just a lower grade.

    comparision chart, real life performance in average:

    PCs on same real frequency CPUs :

    100% P3 Cu_mine/CellyTualatin on BX or AthlonXP/Sempron on nForce
    for REFERENCE

    against
    50% Celly P4/128kB against
    65% P4 Willie/ Celly PrescHOT against
    75% P4 NorthW against
    80% P4 NorthW EE ....against

    {95% Duron oli, 105% Barton, 115% Athlon64 s.A/Sempron s.774, 125%
    Athlon64 s.774 ... approx.} ...

    .... so if is Northwood based, it performs worse than my Tuallie @
    1,35GHz in general. (& heats much more) ...

    You could save money, get an Athlon XP or Sempron, and be just as fast.
