Catalyst 6509 VLAN and SNMP question

Discussion in 'Cisco' started by Martin Haberstroh, Nov 4, 2003.

  1. Hi everybody,

    running a Cisco Catalyst 6509 Switch with WS-X6K-SUP1A-2GE and CatOS 5.5.5 I
    monitor my interfaces with mrtg.
That is running fine. Now I also want to monitor traffic for each VLAN. But
a snmp walk through ifOutUCastPkts shows me 0 for the VLANs (for the
    interfaces the values looking ok).
There are a few more switches (Catalyst 3548XL) connected to this one with
    dot1q-trunks and vtp is configured.

Is it possible to get traffic values from VLANs?
If yes, what do I have to configure at the switch so traffic will be
    counted?

    Martin
