CAPTCHA on Your Home Router!?

    From the link you provided, it appears to be that two problems exist.

    1. The default LAN login has not been updated. If a machine is
    compromised, then the router is accessible. Dumb.

    2. Access to the router from the WAN has not been disabled. Dumb
    and dumber.

    Number 2 is not necessary. All that is necessary is a machine on the LAN
    that is accessible from the Internet (eg Web server) and which can be
    compromised. Then you can attack the router from inside.
