  1. Hi
I having trouble turn off my PC. After I shut down from windows XP the
computer restart instead of shutdown. Now I have to press the power button
for 5 sec to turn my PC off after I shutdown, it is annoying. Can anyone

Pay my travelling expenses and I will gladly come and hold the button in
    for 5 seconds for you.

Don't forget food and lodging costs. This is specialist work, and
specialists don't come (don't go there) cheaply.

Since you might like a reply that is trying to be helpful, I seem to
remember a Windows patch some time ago that was specifically for shut down
problems. Go on to windows update and see if something helpful comes up. I
may be wrong, but you never know!

    Solved

    3rd Attempt (Success!!)

    Problem recognized: Wake on LAN

    Right click "My Computer"
    Select "Properties"
    Go to "Hardware Device"
    Click "Device Manager"
    Select "Network Adapters"
Select "Marvell Yukon .....PCI-Fast Ethernet Controller--> right click ---properties--->power management-->deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"--->Go to "Advanced" tab--->put value off for "Wake from shut down" --->value none for "Wake up capabilities"
    press OK

If this doesn't work then check your BIOS

Restart ---> press F2---> go to "Main" tab --->Network boot [Disable] --- Save
