cannot decide after myriads of reviews...

Discussion in 'Digital Photography' started by Michael Wohlwend, May 10, 2007.

  1. after reading more and more reviews it seems that I'm now nearly totaly
unable to chose my next digicam (no slr, too big and costly ).

In the first place I wanted more zoom than my old Canon S30, and fast
autofocussing. So I narrowed my choice to the Canon S3is and Panasonic FZ7
(but a little more to the S3, since it seemed faster than the S3 while
    trying it out)
Than I found wide tele a nice feature too and now there are the TZ3 and
    Ricoh R6.
Is it o.k. to compare those four (S3, FZ7, TZ3, R6)? Is the picture quality
of the S3 comparable to that of the TZ3 or R6 or a class better ?
Maybe someone knows all four and can give me some comparison tips?

    thanks for any enlightenment,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

To answer your question, of the four cameras you mentioned, the FZ7,
TZ3, and R6 have a relatively high degree of noise (pictures turn out
grainy). And these cameras have been on the market for quite a while.

The Canon S3is is currently being discontinued, but there is an S5is
which is a new camera in the market, and the quality of the S5is is
superior to the other cameras mentioned here. www.kirkscameras.com.au
