    Hi,
I'm new to image processing and I'd like to ask what is the difference
between bits per channel and bits per pixel?

    Thank you

SInce there are three channels in a color photo (r,g,b) a image that
    has 8 bits / channel would have 24 bits / pixel. 16 bits/channel = 48
    bits /pixel
