The BTTF Trilogy is being re-released on 1/25. Will parts 2 & 3
    be the "corrected" versions?

I thought they already fixed it, or did they just offer a replacement for
people who got the incorrectly framed versions?

I was under the impression the BTTF trilogy set with green stickers
are the corrected version and that it had been out for about a year
    now.

What is different about the reissue? Or just repirnts to meet demand?

So I actually picked it up today at Best Buy for that $20 note. The UPC on
it corresponds to the 12/17/2002 release (UPC: 2519221212). Is there any way
to tell for certain that I don't have a misframed version....?

Not without opening the box and looking at discs 2 and 3 first. The
correct discs have "V2" written on them.

Don't read smilies, eh? I thought that'd be the dead giveaway that my
comment was meant light-heartedly. Thanks for reminding me why I filtered
you out on my home machine.

For the more socially adroit -- I don't see "V2" on the label side of the
disks. On the reverse side I see "20025R2". Could that be the indicator?

I guess this was a reminder to filter me out on your "work machine" as well
    then. Glad I could help.

Put one of the movies in and go to one of the many scenes that was listed
all over the web as screwed up and you'll know in a second. Its 2 days
later and you're still asking how to find out by just looking at the
packaging or disk itself when you could have already resolved this.
Obviously you had already opened it, so Im sorry if it hurts your feelings
    or something, but c'mon already.

Is the dvd transfer in 1.85:1 or 2.35:1?

IMDB "technical specs" say it was filmed 1.85:1, but their "dvd info"
for the trilogy says it's 2.35:1

Best Buy doesn't know if it's the corrected version or not. They also
don't know the aspect ration on the dvd. What they DO know is that "you
    open it, you own it".

Neal, or someone, please post the ratio on these 3 disks (the $20
    trilogy from Best Buy).

    Thanks!

It's 1.85:1. And though it boggles the mind, it's the uncorrected version. I
mean, here we are...2 years and change removed from the original release and
subsequent uproar and the uncorrected version are STILL on the shelves.

So, now I have to call Universal and get the ball rolling on the replacement
discs. Sure hope they're still distributing those free of charge....

I guess it really didn't pay off for those that were waiting for the
corrected versions to be on store shelves....glad I bought it when I did
    and got the corrected discs...

CRAP! I'm hearing there was a flaw in the original, but I was outta the
loop on this one. What is the flaw and how bad is it? Getting the 3-disc
collection for 20 bucks would be worth tolerating a minor flaw, no?

Percentage-wise, it may not actually affect that much of the movie but the
mis-framing is pretty egregious where it does occur to the extent that
important details are left out of the picture entirely in some places. For
example, when Marty first puts on that jacket in BTTF II and Doc activates
the button that shrinks the jacket to fit - we can see Doc reach for the
button but the button itself is offscreen and the shortening of the jacket's
arms is likewise completely out of the picture.

On the plus side, though, Universal is still sending out postage-paid
mailers so you can return the second and third movies (the first is
apparently unaffected) for exchange. Their operators' canned speech still
maintains that the problems are minor enough that no one would actually
notice BUT they'll replace the discs if you really want.

    Mighty generous, eh? :p
