AttributeMagic Pro vs exiftool

Discussion in 'Digital Photography' started by Lars-Erik Østerud, Feb 20, 2008.

  1. Still troubling with my PS3 not reading the date of my photos¨
and discovered something very strange. Anyone seen this:

It seems like even though Attribute Magic Pro writes the date tags for
the photo part (alle three EXIF dates), my PS3 doesn't find them.

BUT if I write the same tags again using "exiftool" then the PS3
finds the right date. So there seem to be something strange with the
EXIF dates that makes the PS3 refuse them (shows no date "taken").

The dates do show up in all programs showing the tags, but the PS3
says the "taken" date is missing when it is written by "AttributeMagic
Pro". IF I just rewrite it with "exiftool" (same 3 tags) it's OK.

But "exiftool" is a bit harder to use on a regular basis. Even with an
overlay UI, it's not nearly as easy to use as AttributeMagic Pro.

Anyone know what could cause this, and if there is a way to fix it?

Sounds like AttributeMagic Pro is buggy. If so, only the author is
likely to be able to fix it.

That's what batch files are used for.

Any good company would support it's product. Certainly they have a
    "contact support" option.
