Archiving or Compressing?

Hi. The My Pictures folder on my computer has a lot of files in it and
is going quite slowly. It is in the Thumbnails view mode and it takes
quite a few seconds for everything to show up. Is there anything I can
do to speed this up? In properties and advanced, would selecting
"Folder is ready for archiving" or "compress contents to save disc
space" be a good thing to do?

    Thanks

    John

    Hey,

By selecting those options, you would only be slowing down the system
more. These delays could be caused by a slow hard disk or processor.
I am not sure of ways to speed this process up, but checking those
    boxes won't help.

    Hope this helped!
