Can somebody help a silver surfer (76+) to get rid of objectionable SPAM.
I have installed 'Mailwasher Pro' but I can't stop medical and investment
messages appearing. Is there any known cure?
    TIA

    Hi Syd

I use Mailwasher Pro and have managed to control spam by various filters
including the one the stops anything 'not TO my address' which seem very
effective. Those nice chaps at Mailwasher are also very helpful.

    Cheers

Posting to usenet with your real email address is a sure way to pick up
more SPAM. Take a look here for some suggestions:

    Install,"Mailwasher",
    http://www.mailwasher.net/download.php
Tools/Options/Filters/Add and make a filter.Click the," mark for
    deletion boxes.Choose fewer
rules. In the Rules box change to The To Field.Change to the next box
across and change to,"Does Not Contain" and then in the far right box
    put your email address.
This will delete them from your pop box as most
of these virus spam are not personal as you may think and they won't
have your return address. You can add anyone who you want to get
through to your,"Friends" list or blacklist others.

    HTH :)
