After Dell, HP?

Discussion in 'NZ Computing' started by Lawrence D'Oliveiro, Jul 30, 2007.

  1. Dell seems to be having some success offering desktops and laptops with
Linux preinstalled. Could HP be wanting to get in on the act?

You do realise that they're not free?

For the first time in your life you'll have to pay through your nose to have
    Linux.

As if you've ordered one already, which only goes to prove that if you won't
buy one no one else will either. Not forgetting they come with Linux or
doesn't that really matter as much as you'd like to make out because Hell
will freeze over before you'll buy a Dell PC.

The Dell configurations with Linux are USD50 cheaper than comparable ones
    with Dimdows.

How many have they sold with Dimdows?
Probably more than they'll sell with Linux but a lot less than what they'll
    sell with Windows.

Snipping replies down is hardly an answer just because you got caught out
    with your own bullshit.
