Address book question

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by Charlie Bress, Sep 21, 2003.

  1. Sending mail in OE6 you can just start typing a name into the To: line and
the address is filled in when there are enough characters to distinguish the
    addressee. OK, that's the theory.
The problem: there is an addressee whose old listing is hiding somewhere,
but this is the one that is gets filled in. I know it is an old one because
the old one was in the form "firstname Lastname". (note the capitalization).
The correct listing is "Firstname Lastname" . So I know the old one is the
one that pops up and it is associated with an obsolete userid.

I went to the address book at *.wab and searched through all the folders
and find that only the correct address is in any of them.

Where would this old address be hiding?

Clear your autocomplete history. Control Panel / Internet Options /
Content / Autocomplete. Press 'Clear forms'.
Go to the General tab and press 'Clear History'.
