I use a few local and specialised search engines. Can I add them to my
search engine list. I can only see how to add them from the Firefox
list, none of those I need are there. Possible or not?

    Many Thanks,

    Not terribly computer literate..... Bob

Use the OpenSearch Plugin. This will allow you to add any search
engine/box you wish to the drop-down menu.

The plugin I suggested is even better though as it allows you to add a
search box *from any website* to the Search Engine box, allocate
    Favicons to them etc

It's one of the most useful plugins I've come across so far....IMO and
    YMMV of course :)

you're right, YMMV: for me, I use search engine bookmarklets
    instead
