Activation Issue

Discussion in 'Windows 64bit' started by =?Utf-8?B?UHJvd2xlcjg1?=, Jan 22, 2007.

  1. I recently upgraded from trial version to purchased version. The install was
a pain, but finally finished. When I try to login, it asks if I would like
to activate. Selecting no sends you back to the login screen. Selecting yes
goes to an x64 screen for a moment then logs you back out. Since I cannot
get in I cannot get internet connected. Safe mode is no help. I cannot find
the phone activation number as I cannot login, and even if I knew the phone
number, it wouldn't help unless you can enter it in safe mode (which it
    doesn't appear you can).

Locked out of my computer for now. Any help appreciated

Try booting from the installation disk, choosing repair installation
    after hitting F8.

  3. Yeah...
I was in same place like you.
Only clean installation could help me. So and you too.
    Good Luck!

  4. Did you figure it out? I am having the exact same problem except my system
is connected to the internet. It was downloading updates while I am stuck at
the welcome screen. I also know its connected because I can access it
remotely through LogMeIn (as far as accessing the welcome screen only), but
it won't activate even with that. I did the upgrade from within the trial
and I can't afford to do a clean install because the computer has a
configured property management software that I cannot risk losing. I posted
about this issue today before I saw this post, but I really need help. I had
an appointment with Microsoft on Friday but they had to cancel due to weather
and then they rescheduled for today but never called so I am stuck.
