    Hi all,

I passed the 70-270 last week (whew!) and now when I login to my
account page at https://partners.microsoft.com I see a bunch of
acronyms that are brand new to me. I know what MCP means but the rest
are confusing me ... any help would be appreciated. It says ...

    Tracks and Specializations
    MCPS
    MCNPS

    Areas of Specialization
MCP 2.0 -- Certified Professional (I get this one)
MCPS 2.0 - AOS: Microsoft Windows XP (and 5 others)
MCNPS 2.0 - AOS: Information Worker Solutions Competency - Office
    Systems Desktop Deployment

So what do MCPS, MCNPS, and AOS mean?

    Thanks!
    Andrew

I would ask in the private groups for the MCP (if they have those). I
haven't taken any exams yet, so I don't know if there are private
groups. But, I would imagine that anything found after you log into the
site isn't for public consumption. (in other words, you can't talk
    about it here).

did you hear "Andrew" <> say in

I believe the MCPS is Microsoft Certified Product Specialist and MCNPS is
Microsoft Certified .Net Product Specialist. I'm not sure if these are
being replaced, but MS has announced some changes to the certifications.
The current list can be found at

  6. Andrew,

Its been a while since i have spent time in the Microsoft Partner's page
(Havent worked for one i about four years). But these are acronyms are
specific to the Partner transcript. It shows what the company you work for
is competent at. For example if i own a company blueboats and browse
microsofts website for a company who knows how to use MS Access to develop
applications and i look in your neighborhood- i might find your company. But
if i was looking for a company to install a firewall i wouldnt call you. You
can find out more on the partner's page.

    hope this helps.
