A way to know if metering on Nikon FA is working properly prior to second hand purchase ?

Discussion in 'Digital Photography' started by Brian Bellows, Aug 9, 2003.

  1. What are the criteria one would look for in ensuring an electronic
camera such as a Nikon FA were sound electronically, if purchased
    second hand.

Having seen how an earlier not so electronic "F" camera can go "off"
due to light contamination and other shutter and meter matters, it
seems that finding out if the camera is OK would be less than easy to
do on a very fast - to get it back to the seller - basis, if there was
something subtle that was out or off.

Are there nearly tried and true methods of ascertaining the soundness
or integrity of an electronic camera's metering, prior to purchase ?
