Just purchased and setting up a new ASUS P5NSLI mobo. Plugged main HD into
SATA controller/slot and installed WinXPPro. When ever I plug another HD
into one of the 4 SATA controller/slot the system will not boot. Goes thru
POST then getting blinking cursur. Unplug SATA HD and system boots normal.
Can not figure out what the issue is.

Make sure the original drive is first in the bios boot order.

For some strange reason SATA drives won't play nice with non-SATA
    drives.
Move all your data to your sata drive and put your non- in a drawer to
    collect dust.

1st, check in the bios, that SATA isn't set to RAID, set it to NON RAID.
2nd. check boot order, make sure working drive is top of the list.
