  1. I am preparing to take this exam using the MS training kit. I was wondering
how many questions are on the exam, the percent needed to pass with and how
much time is given to take the exam.

thank you in advance for your reply

  3. I will take this exam withing the upcoming week.
The passing % is 80. You have 2 hours, and I think there are 55 questions,
but am not sure about that.
I am about finishing the Preparation Kit and will then focus solely on doing
    practice tests.
Anyone here who recently passed? Is there a chance for making two shots on
    the same day?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    weeks.
    Good luck on your exam!

Now now Martin, I would like to know where you got the figure of 80% as
passing? I have taken a couple of Microsoft exams already, as well as
helped to create one, and do not remember ever being told what the passing
percentage was, only that it was 700.

If you are not sure, do not answer because frankly people come here looking
for advice and by misleading them you may discourage them!

  6. Hey Montreal,

The interesting part of your answer would be now how many points are
available in total? Is it 1000?
I have read in a few documentations now that the passing % is 80. I don't
claim that to be 100% correct though. If you know more, please let us
    know...

Just that "700" is an answer I cannot get any information from at all.

    cheers,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

The answer is simple: It depends. There are some exams that are on 1000,
but more often than not a perfect score would be in the 900s somewhere. It
    is different for each exam.

The way it works is once the exam review team - usually a group of
professionals and consultants - sit in a classroom in Redmond and review the
questions for a day or more, depending on how long the exam is. At the end
of that process they are given the entire list of questions and a survey on
how high the passing grade should be, based on how easy an exam they
perceive it to be. I cannot go into much more detail but that is about the
size of it. Based on that survey the Microsoft Learning team will decide on
what the passing grade is. They then - from what I understand - punch those
numbers into a system and come up with how many questions one must get right
to achieve a 700, and so on. Since every question is equally weighted
(except for 'beta questions' which are worth zero) it would not be realistic
to make each exam on 1000... but it is really academic because the only
grade that counts is 700 - get it and you pass, do not get it and you do not
    :)

    Hi

can anyone tell me which certificatio nI could take after the 70-536 to
    obtain the MCP status ?

    Because here http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcp/requirements.mspx
it is written : Note Exams 70-058 and 70-536 are exceptions to the one
exam requirement. Passing either of these exams will not certify an
    individual as an MCP.

So I think think I need to get an additional certificate.

I want to get an MCP in the Area of development with the .NET Framework
