In the 70-536 training kit there are three lines of vb code in the
chapter on graphics (page 350) to draw a string in a windows
    application.
There is no instruction where to type the code, which is a shortcoming
of the book, IMO, so I put it in the form load event but when I run
the program the form is empty. I think something is missing in the
code from the book, but what? I also tried putting the code in the
    form_paint event to no avail.

    Public Class Form1

Private Sub Form1_Paint(ByVal sender as Object, ByVal e As
    System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles Me.Paint

    Dim g as Graphics = me.CreateGraphics
    Dim f as Font = New Font("Arial", 12, FonstStyle.Bold)
    g.Drawstring("something", f, Brushes.Blue, 10, 10)

    End Sub

    End Class
