70-290 Default User Profile

Discussion in 'MCSA' started by Anthony Clarke, Jun 11, 2008.

  1. When dealing with Roaming User Profiles. When a user logs on to a domain for
the 1st time, which Default User profile does the user account attempt to
    acquire first?

The NETLOGON\Default User profile from the domain controller?
    or
The computer in which he/she is logging on to (local) C:\Documents and
    Settings\Default User profile ?

It depends on the server how it was configured, if the client/computer was a
member of the domain that was configured to used the roaming profile, the
first to acquired was the roaming profile resided at the server. Because if
not, you can't log on to domain. unless you are logging locally using local
    account.

It depends how it's configured. By default u get the default user profile
from the local machine, but if you have configured the profile to look to
NETLOGON for the first profile it will use that one
