64-bit HELP!

Discussion in 'Windows 64bit' started by =?Utf-8?B?ZGpyeWRlcjEyMTU=?=, Feb 4, 2007.

  1. I'm looking to upgrade soon and i need help. I know my processor can handle
the 64 bit Vista, but I have MCE and I don't know if it is 32 bit or 64 bit.
And depending on what is installed now do I have to format and reinstall? If
thats the case do I have to buy an upgrade or the whole thing. Finally do I
have to buy a special version for 64-bit?

MCE is only 32-bit. You will have to install from scratch, as you cannot
upgrade in place from 32-bit to 64-bit. You can buy an upgrade version, and
except for Vista Ultimate 64 bit you will have to buy an extra disk for
Vista64 or whole system for XP X64
