2nd cpu on 100% Util

  1. Hi,

perhaps somebody can help me here:

dual amd opteron 248 inkl. 8 GB Ram...

fresh install of xp64bit and w2k3 64 bit... without any additional drivers
except for the areca sata controller... I used the same disk for that..

    nforce 4 chipset, tyan k8we...

under xp either 32 or 64bit the second cpu uses 100% .. psexplorer shows it
is the acpi.sys which also has a lot of context switches..

w2k3 doesn't show this behaviour... so what is different between them? or
better... what can solve my problem?

yes,.... what makes it more interesting is that since yesterday the
behaviour in xp32bit is gone.. will test 64bit xp today and will try to
    figure out what caused it.
