“Get Android-Style Notifications On Your Iphoneâ€

Discussion in 'NZ Computing' started by Lawrence D'Oliveiro, May 16, 2011.

  1. Had to chuckle at the article with that title in the May issue of APC
magazine. Of course, you have to jailbreak your Apple-controlled property.
    And then

To take the Android imitation even further, install another jailbreak
app called Activator. ... With Activator, you can assign the ‘Swipe
Down’ action from the Status Bar to launch Notified — the same gesture
you would use to access the Notifications window in Android.

It’s come to the point, isn’t it, when it’s the Apple users suffering
Android envy, rather than the other way round?

There are always geeks out to prove how clever they are by making a
Windows PC look like a Mac, or a Linux box look like Windows, or an
    iPhone look like an Android.

It does not mean a sizeable proportion of users would actually want it.

But when I am desperate, when my Linux consultancy business turns over
so little that I don’t know what a GST return looks like and what is
the same on it every time, then I will cling even to a straw for hope.
