Bug or Feature - Bookmark Toolbar collapses

I just upgraded to Firefox 1.0. Great browser.

One observation that I'm noticing several times. When I leave the computer for an extended period of time with Firefox iconified in the task bar, when I bring it back up, my Bookmark Toolbar (like the IE links) are collapsed, essentially disappearing.

All I see is the >> symbol on the left side of the browser. When I click it, the bookmark toolbar opens VERTICALLY. But the toolbar normally displays them horizontally. I fiddled around and could not figure out how to restore it, so what I did was maximize the window and then restore it to its normal size-- essentially forcing Firefox to refresh its objects in the window. Then my toolbar was restored to its horizontal display.

So is this a bug or feature? If this is a feature, what is its purpose and how would I restore my toolbar wtihout the maximizing hack? I'm running Win XP Pro, SP2 and didn't notice this with previous versions of Firefox.

I only notice this if Firefox (the computer) is left idle for awhile (a few hours). Other than that, it's been smooth sailing!

Jim

unless someone has an answer here.

... maybe try your hunch about this being a feature? a setting? but if so, how did it get screwed up?

have you messed with
about:config
?

maybe google for info:
about:config toolbar

First, you need to fix your news software so people can read your
message. Set the line lenght to 70 (or so) characters. I refuse to
scroll across the page to read posts who are hundreds of characters
per line.

Please repost PROPERLY !

Thank You

Mark

interesting. he's using oe6. i've never noticed that oe default to no-wrap.

anyway, xnews has a 'word wrap' button that fixes unwrapped fast

xnews has a grottier (crankier?) rep than it deserves, imo.
most options are accessible, and config answers can be googled. ..and usually the .ini edits WORK (YES! AMAZING!)

Line length fixed now.

So did you have an answer on the toolbar?

Posting without HTML might be nice too. I don't mind, but many people do.

When you read message posted with format=flowed (like ones from TB), do
they run across your screen too? Or does Agent deal with them properly.
