Its a nice problem to have.
Your street contains some nice captures. I particularly like Cambridge
streets monochrome #6. Your use of HDR with varying degrees of tone
mapping, adds pathos and interest.
This may be just me, but I think you color street images would be much
stronger in monochrome. You

BTW I kept having an issue with your webpage and IE 10. I kept getting a
message that a problem with the webpare has cause IE to close and reopen
the tab.

A classic subject with excellent angles available if you go at the right times
of the day. And I plan to head over to Old North Church on the next good day
for a similarly classic shot. (While you're in the area, see what you can do
with Back Bay Station and the BPL.)

My other two pix were shot in Cambridge, and Martha took all three of hers in
Sudbury. So there doesn't figure to be any duplication in the submissions of
the Boston contingent. :^)

I am sorry to hear that some participants can't find steeples for this
Shoot-In.

I am lucky. Our town center was chosen to be in a movie because it is such a
typical New England town. I photographed three steeples in our town center
historic district and was very pleased with them until I saw the pictures that
others say didn't make their top three shots.

If those shots are not their best three, I can't wait to see their shots that
are!

I had another experience with a book that had a "Guess the denomination" game.
It had pages of steeples from "Little Town on the Prairie" churches in the
American Mid-West. The point of the collection was that you could identify the
denomination of a church by its steeple, and the challenge was to see whether
the reader could identify the denominations of the churches in the pictures.
All of the steeples were unique; most were interesting; and some had
structures that we don't often see around here.

My collection from the Sudbury town center had two interesting steeples and
one plain but elegant white spire. When I saw the reject pictures I realized
that the plain farm town spire was not as interesting as the wedding cake
steeple in a neighboring town, so I photographed the wedding cake steeple for
my entry instead.

But here is what is interesting. The denomination of the church with the
wedding cake steeple and the denomination of one of my picturesque Sudbury
steeples is the same!

So if you are having trouble finding a good steeple to photograph, look at the
steeples that are more than 50 years old in your community and see which
denominations have the best ones. Then go to the churches of those
denominations in nearby towns and see what their steeples look like. You
should find some steeples that are worth photographing.

Martha

I only have one, possibly two from my archives, that I would consider.
But, thanks to the impending storm, I will have time to look for more.
Hope you stay warm and dry.
