Unfilterable spam

I've just started getting a lot of spam email in which everything
(subject, from, reply-to, content) displays as junk characters in
Thunderbird, like: 넣자마자 싸는 남자들 보세요
I presume this is Chinese or Japanese.
The sender name and subject seem to be different every time, so it isn't
obvious how to trap these in the filter. I suppose I could enter every
junk character, but there are a lot. Any suggestions?

Thunderbird can filter on any email header. If sender and subject
aren't easy to filter on, look in another header for something which can
be filtered on. Use "View >> Message Source" to see all the headers.

Alternatively, train Thunderbird's Bayesian junk filter.

Also View > Headers > All. I see that all these spam emails have a
header "Received-SPF", which I can add to the filter using Customize
(with various field detection values), but for some reason this header
doesn't seem to be recognized - when I click "Run now" it doesn't do
anything.

Oh so that is what i must be doing Any new spam messages I mark as junk
and thunderbird craps on any further ones, until things cahnge. Repeat as
necessary.

So, Mark as Junk from the menus, highlight the message header first. (On the
Linux platform, might be slightly different on (the) Ms plaftorm.)

Thanks Ralph (and Gordon) - I'm training the junk filter.

One can also click the dot in the 'junk status' column, which changes
the dot into an orange flame and marks the message as junk.
