I believe that Windows 7 x64 now has a 20 connection
limit:

I get 20 on my Windows 7 x64 ultimate pc:

C:\Windows\system32>net config server
Server Name \\OK
Server Comment

Software version Windows 7 Ultimate
Server is active on
NetbiosSmb (OK)
NetBT_Tcpip_{9115FCC3-A906-4DD2-AE90-89551E262B23} (OK)


Server hidden No
Maximum Logged On Users 20
Maximum open files per session 16384

The number appears to be the same for Win8.
